Echard admits that on the night he and Owens were intimate (May 20, 2024) that he, "wanted to have sex and she didn't."

Echard admits he texted Owens, “I would like for you to get an abortion. If you do not, that’s your choice. Either you’ll take 100% custody of the child, or it will be put up for adoption,” he said. Then, later: “One of us will have 100% custody… there will be no joint custody.”

Echard admits he invited Owens to his apartment in June 2023 to take a "surprise" pregnancy test, which was positive.

Echard admits to buying the pregnancy test but later tried to dismiss the result by saying, “Let’s call it an hCG test because we know she was never pregnant.”

When asked directly if the box indicated it was a pregnancy test, Echard admits to replying, “Sure, I guess that’s what they market it as — for people who are actually truthful and take these tests and don’t lie.”

Under questioning, Echard testified that after Owens said she would not have an abortion unless he dated her, he told her he’d “give her a chance” at a relationship as a way to “potentially end the situation.” He then admitted it was “a lie,” that he had “no intention” of dating her, and that he said it “to see if she’d go away”—confirming that he meant to see if she would move forward with an abortion.
